At 63 and having my own small counseling business for 3 years and teaching art as well, I would say my suggestion is to be yourself, be kind to yourself, and be true to yourself. The more you value your most authentic nature of sincerity and kindness the more those things shine. It doesn’t mean you don’t feel other things at times or that boldness with compassion isn’t part of the picture, just that self-compassion will help keep you centered, and resilient.
