Meet the founder of Hidden Star: Mike Dewey

Mike Dewey is the Founder and Chairman of Hidden Star Resources, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping women and minority entrepreneurs start and grow successful businesses. Since its founding in 2016, Hidden Star has expanded its impact nationwide, providing funding resources, education, and mentorship to underserved entrepreneurs. He is also the creator of Galaxy of Stars, a rapidly growing online platform that has connected hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs with grants, tools, and support to help them succeed.
A multi-time entrepreneur and former private equity investor, Mike brings a unique combination of real-world business experience and mission-driven leadership. He currently serves as CEO of New Leaf Staffing, a fast-growing provider in the $180 billion staffing industry. Under his leadership, the company has experienced significant growth and employs workers across multiple industries nationwide.
Prior to his work with Hidden Star, Mike founded and led FCPC Management, LLC, a network of discount veterinary clinics across Texas, which he successfully exited in 2016. He also served as President and COO of Clearshot Capital Partners, a private equity firm, where he spent seven years investing in and advising businesses.
Mike is also an author and educator, having written The What-to-Do, Where-to-Turn, Who-to-Ask Guide for New Entrepreneurs, and co-developed entrepreneurship training programs designed to provide practical, accessible guidance for aspiring business owners.
In addition to his business and nonprofit leadership, Mike has been actively involved in his community. He previously served as a City Council member for West Lake Hills, Texas, as a Trustee and Chair of the Eanes Education Foundation; and chairman of the Finance committee of Westlake Methodist Church. His work reflects a long-standing commitment to expanding economic opportunity and strengthening communities.
Mike is driven by a simple but powerful belief: that more successful women- and minority-owned businesses make for a stronger, more prosperous America.
