Business Description

Zero Waste Daniel is a New York based clothing designer and zero-waste lifestyle pioneer who uses pre-consumer waste sourced from New York City’s garment industry, as well as other hard-to-recycle materials, to create his line of genderless clothing and accessories. Through Zero Waste Daniel’s innovative and artful pattern-making techniques, even the smallest fabric scraps—typically considered unusable in conventional design—are skillfully integrated into new creations, effectively reducing the material that ends up in landfills. The unconventional sourcing and patterning strategy of Zero Waste Daniel ensures that every garment and accessory is one-of-a-kind. The most recent collections from Zero Waste Daniel feature stylized textile mosaic portraits, intricate three-dimensional textile flowers, and a form of patchwork developed by Zero Waste Daniel, called Reroll.

Zero Waste Daniel was founded in 2015 as a natural expression of Daniel’s passion for creating art, getting involved in his community, and sustainable innovation. His story and brand first went viral in 2017 with more than 35 million views worldwide on NOW THIS, INSIDER, MASHABLE, and BUZZFEED. After recovering from the economic hit of COVID-19, Zero Waste Daniel was able to reopen its storefront in September 2023 after operating exclusively online for three years. As of 2024, his projects have been featured on CNN, THE BBC, and GOOD MORNING AMERICA; as well as in global publications such as FORBES, VOGUE, and THE NEW YORK TIMES.
