Founder's Story
Business Description
We R Only Human is a non-profit organization. It is dedicated to supporting the rights and well-being of people with special needs. This support is for individuals from childhood to adulthood. Our unwavering mission revolves around fostering their full integration and active participation within society.
Our Core Objectives:
1. We support the inclusion of people with special needs. We believe they should be included in all areas of life. By dismantling barriers and promoting understanding, we strive to create a world where everyone’s unique abilities are celebrated.
2. Comprehensive Support: We recognize that families and caregivers play a pivotal role in the lives of these individuals. Our organization offers important support. We provide resources, guidance, and tools to help them care for their loved ones.
3. Public Education: Education is our cornerstone. We actively engage with the public, raising awareness about the rights, challenges, and potential of individuals with special needs. Through knowledge dissemination, we empower communities to embrace diversity and foster empathy.
4. Collaboration: We believe in collective impact. We collaborate closely with other organizations, governmental bodies, and community stakeholders to amplify our efforts. Together, we work towards a more inclusive and compassionate society.
At We R Only Human, our vision extends beyond advocacy—it encompasses transformation. Join us in creating a world where every individual, regardless of ability, thrives and contributes meaningfully. Together, we can break down barriers and build bridges of understanding.
**Initiative:** As a registered nurse, I have witnessed families being torn apart and caregivers experiencing significant burnout. As a mother of four children with special needs, I have noticed a lack of empathy. My father has advanced Parkinson’s disease. This situation has made the lack of understanding even more apparent. This deficiency is evident among caregivers and families caring for individuals with complex needs. It’s not a matter of a lack of caring; rather, it stems from a lack of understanding and knowledge.
To address this issue, I have developed a portable, fully immersive escape room experience designed to help caregivers “find their empathy” and understand life “through the eyes of the patient.” We use safe sensory tools to simulate different conditions. These include dementia, ADHD, autism, neuropathy, and arthritis. We also simulate visual impairments, hemiplegia, amputation, Parkinson’s, hearing loss, macular degeneration, and paralysis. We tailor our program to meet your specific needs. This experience is called “Escape Your Apathy.”
This initiative is ideal for new employee orientations, reorientations, and family sensitivity training. We also include a seminar and a Q&A session at the end of the day’s program. The proceeds from this initiative will help fund our initial nonprofit organization dedicated to special needs navigation.
