After twenty-one years in the Air Force, I sat down to plan my next chapter, where to live, where my daughter could go to college, how the benefits I’d earned actually fit together. Nobody had ever shown me. The order you use them in can change the total by thousands.

I built a tool that really shows how they work.

WE GOT YOU 1776 is a mobile college-planning app for military families. It does something no other tool does: it shows families how all of their VA education benefits – GI Bill, transferred benefits, Fry Scholarship, Chapter 35 (DEA), Yellow Ribbon, and state aid – work together. If you’ve earned or qualify for more than one benefit, the order you use them in changes the total your family ends up with, often by thousands of dollars. The app shows you how.

The math runs off a school’s zip code, follows current published rates, and speaks plain English instead of VA jargon. It handles three location patterns – a U.S. campus, an overseas school or U.S. university’s overseas branch, or a degree split across both – and switches term by term based on where the student is physically sitting in class. A cost-of-living estimator sits on top of the benefit math, so families can adjust real numbers on a real screen instead of guessing in their heads.

The app is built with privacy as a foundation. There is no account, no login, no tracking, no analytics, no telemetry, and no ads – ever. Every figure traces back to its published source so users can verify before they act. The printable worksheet is built to be brought to a VA representative, Veterans Service Organization, or School Certifying Official, who makes the official determination. The app never replaces official guidance.

WE GOT YOU 1776, LLC is a Florida-based company, founded May 2026 by a Hispanic veteran retired after twenty-one years of U.S. Air Force service. It is sole-member owned, independently funded, and intentionally not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, or any branch of the military.

Alongside the app, the company runs a free, permanent Founders Mentorship Program for Fry Scholarship students – the children of service members who didn’t come home. They get personal guidance on college planning, navigating their benefits, and long-term success, at no cost, ever.

The app is free for the first five states with GI Bill calculations, with no expiration, payment, or trial. The optional $17.99/year subscription unlocks all remaining states, the top 50 overseas options by available enrollment data, and dependent education calculations. The subscription is what keeps the company open and funds the expansion of the mentorship program.
