Business Description

Girl Code was established to offer supportive services and resources to at risk female teens and young mothers in Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland area in need of additional support. Our goal is to equip our teens and young mothers with the necessary tools to become successful women, capable of raising happy and healthy children.

This program is designed for youth and young mothers who are faced with challenges and struggles that young girl’s face. The program provides the tools that empower girls to know: it’s okay to BE WHO YOU ARE, to know that YOU ARE ENOUGH, and knowing it’s normal to not know who you are RIGHT NOW but you will and knowing prepares you to walk into WHAT’S MEANT FOR YOU.  The program discuss social and economical issues within the community and how technology is a daily influence. Our goal is to equip young women with the tools to avoid danger, develop their self-identity, and nourish their self-esteem by empowering them to be successful leaders in educating their peers and “sisters” about these issues.

We work with our girls to practice abstinence or safe sex,  set educational and career goals and accomplish their goals. We teach  life skills to help become independent; financial budgeting, job interviewing skills, money management, resume building, self-defense, cooking, nutrition, relationship workshops, stress and anger management, and more. We offer individual therapy and group as well.
