Founder's Story

Truth In Training, Inc. Basketball Academy was founded out of a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves an opportunity to succeed, regardless of their family's income, neighborhood, or circumstances.
Located in Homestead, Florida where many families face financial hardship, limited recreational opportunities, and barriers to youth development programs, the academy was established to provide a safe, positive, and affordable environment where children could grow both athletically and personally. Many local youths lacked access to organized sports due to the high costs of club teams, travel programs, equipment, and training. As a result, countless talented and motivated children were being left behind.
Recognizing this need, Truth In Training was created to remove those barriers and ensure that all children, including those from low-income and underserved families—have access to quality basketball instruction, mentorship, academic encouragement, and character development.

Business Description

Truth In Training, Inc. Basketball Academy is a youth development program dedicated to helping athletes grow both on and off the court. Through structured skill development, competitive training, character-building activities, and mentorship, our academy provides a safe, family-oriented environment where players can build confidence, improve basketball fundamentals, and develop life skills such as discipline, teamwork, leadership, and perseverance.

Our program serves boys and girls ages 6 – 18 and focuses on:

• Basketball fundamentals (dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, footwork)
• Strength, agility, and conditioning
• Competitive game situations and basketball IQ
• Leadership and character development
• Teamwork and sportsmanship

Players participate in age-appropriate training sessions led by experienced coaches who emphasize skill mastery, effort, respect, and continuous improvement.
