Founder's Story

Living in USA for more than 20 years as 1st generation immegrant mother to two kids, I was always thirst for wanting to teach and give my kids where are the origin of their. I really want to show them and remember just one thing : The old phrase that represent the Korean spirit " let the good to spread among people". I started this shop 2.5 years ago when we just pass the pandemic, I want to comfort people around me and going forward to other peope who needs a small comfort. I love Hangul and the warmth of good phrase which can be a resting moment for the people.
In the end, I am hoping when my kids facing the difficult time, the words and warms on my creating on my product can be a little cheer and peace for them. With this mind, I want to keep creating something that can give a moment of comfort and peaceful time to anyone.
My goal is first make this small business to success and second, do not loose the purpose and extend the product that can be more approachable to more people

Business Description

Thinkingwave is a Seattle-based creative studio dedicated to designing moments of calm through minimalist Korean calligraphy. Centered around the emotional power of simple words, the studio creates thoughtfully designed objects—such as mugs and art prints—that carry messages of peace, balance, and quiet reassurance. Each piece begins with a single Korean word, carefully expressed through refined, minimal brushwork that allows space, stillness, and meaning to coexist.

By blending traditional Hangul calligraphy with a contemporary design sensibility, Thinkingwave transforms language into a visual experience that invites pause and reflection. The work is intentionally understated, creating room for the viewer to breathe, slow down, and reconnect with a sense of inner peace. More than decorative objects, these designs are meant to gently comfort and support people in their everyday lives—offering small, meaningful reminders of calm in a fast-moving world.
