The French Sophie is a U.S. government-registered service company fostering and facilitating authentic French-American and Francophone exchanges. Our vision is GLOCAL: a global perspective prioritizing local and indigenous solutions.

The founder, Sophie Suzanne (Ripoll) Fung, is a French-American teacher, writer, and creative professional facilitating authentic French-American information and communication. Over the decades, Sophie has worked as a teacher and a contributing writer for world-renowned schools and online publications in France (Paris) and the US (NY/LA). She also has extensive experience in creative writing, editing, translating, interpreting, dubbing, and other media services, particularly for television journalists.

Sophie is certified as a teacher by the State of California in French (All grades, all ages, including College), and Multiple Subjects (K-12) with English Learners’ Authorization. In August 2024, she was also granted the California Studio Teacher/Welfare Worker Permit for children performers.

Sophie is also the creator of Conversation Sparkers™, a line of handwritten French designs printed on eco-friendly apparel and accessories available on demand to Non-profits, businesses, and private customers (Find me on Etsy).
