Founder's Story

Tenant Transparency RML was created from a simple but powerful question: Why are renters expected to pass background checks and screenings, yet tenants often have little information about landlords or property conditions before signing a lease?

Over the years, I listened to countless stories from renters dealing with unsafe conditions, poor communication, unresolved maintenance issues, and confusion about their rights. I realized there was a major gap in housing transparency and tenant education, especially in underserved communities.
I started building Tenant Transparency RML while balancing full-time professional responsibilities and community work. With limited resources but a strong vision, I began researching the housing industry, creating educational content, developing website prototypes, and connecting directly with renters through social media platforms like TikTok.
What started as community conversations quickly grew into a larger mission.

Business Description

Tenant Transparency RML is a housing transparency and tenant education platform focused on helping renters make more informed housing decisions before signing a lease. Our mission is to increase awareness, accountability, and access to information within the rental housing space by creating a community-centered resource for tenants navigating housing concerns. We aim to bridge the gap between renters, housing education, and transparency by providing tools, resources, and conversations that empower individuals and families to better understand their rights and housing experiences.

The platform was created in response to the growing number of renters experiencing issues such as unsafe living conditions, maintenance delays, lease confusion, poor communication from property management, security deposit disputes, and housing instability. Tenant Transparency RML seeks to create a space where renters can share experiences, access educational information, and learn how to advocate for themselves responsibly and effectively. While we are not a law firm and do not provide legal representation, we focus heavily on tenant awareness, housing education, and connecting communities with helpful resources and information.

Tenant Transparency RML also uses digital engagement and community outreach to educate renters through social media, online content, and future workshops centered around lease literacy, renter preparedness, and housing awareness. Our long-term vision is to expand into a trusted national housing transparency resource that supports healthier landlord-tenant relationships, encourages accountability, and helps renters feel more informed, prepared, and empowered throughout the rental process.

Through education, transparency, and community engagement, Tenant Transparency RML is working to create a stronger and more informed housing ecosystem for renters across underserved communities and beyond.
