Founder's Story

I’m Toni Samuelu, a solo mom of five, former classroom teacher, and educator with over 20 years of experience working with children and families. For two decades, I’ve been asking one question: How do we do what’s truly best for kids? After years in traditional education, microschools, homeschool spaces, and hands-on learning environments, I saw a growing problem: children are often given more academics, screens, and pressure, but less meaningful play, creativity, responsibility, and real-world learning. That’s why I created Simple Joyful Learning: to help parents and educators simplify early learning through story-based lessons, creative play, outdoor exploration, real-world projects, and character-building conversations. What began as a personal mission in my home has grown into a business that supports families, homeschool moms, microschools, co-ops, and educators who want to raise capable, creative, caring kids. My goal is to help overwhelmed parents feel confident and equipped.

Business Description

Simple Joyful Learning helps parents and educators simplify early childhood learning through story-based activities, creative play, real-world projects, and practical parent education. I serve families, homeschool moms, co-ops, microschools, and educators who want to nurture children’s creativity, confidence, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and character without recreating stressful school-at-home systems.

Through coaching, digital resources, workshops, and educational content, I help families build simple learning rhythms that fit real life. My resources include book-based learning guides, hands-on project ideas, outdoor learning invitations, discussion prompts, parent coaching, and practical tools for helping children become creators, not consumers. My work is especially helpful for parents of young children who want learning to feel joyful, meaningful, and connected rather than overwhelming, worksheet-heavy, or screen-dependent.

As a former teacher, M.Ed. educator, and solo mom of five, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to this work. I understand the pressure parents feel to “do it all,” and I help them focus on what matters most: reading great books, having rich conversations, creating together, building responsibility, spending time outdoors, and helping children discover their God-given gifts and unique purpose.

Simple Joyful Learning exists to make high-quality, child-centered learning more accessible to families. My mission is to equip parents and educators with simple tools that help children grow strong roots in character and connection while developing the wings they need for a rapidly changing future.
