Business Description

As I pursued my music education degree in college, I couldn’t help but reflect on the disparity I could see in music education and performance. While neurotypical students had ample opportunities for musical exploration and performance, their neurodiverse peers often found these avenues inaccessible. This inequity sparked a deep sense of determination within me to create a music school that would be truly inclusive and accessible to all. And so, the Rubato School of Music was born. Our name, inspired by the musical term “rubato,” which allows for expressive flexibility in tempo, encapsulates our commitment to individualized learning. At Rubato, we adapt our teaching approaches, musical notations, and even instruments as needed to ensure every student, regardless of their abilities, can fully engage with and express themselves through music.

At Rubato School of Music, we believe that “where words fail, music speaks.” This quote by Hans Christian Andersen captures our mission to create a nurturing community where every individual, regardless of skill level or different ability can discover their musical voice. We are passionate about cultivating an environment of unconditional acceptance and inclusion. Our dedicated educators are skilled at tailoring lessons to the unique strengths and needs of each student, embracing the diverse talents of our neurodiverse community. Whether a student is just beginning their musical journey or ready to take their skills to the next level, Rubato provides engaging, empowering experiences that celebrate their individuality.
