Founder's Story

I am motivated by one simple idea: I want people to feel safe enjoying one of the most beautiful
places in the world.
I moved to San Francisco in 2019, and from my very first day here, I noticed something that
shocked me—broken glass everywhere. It wasn't just one neighborhood or one parking lot. I saw
shattered windows outside stores lots, in parking garages, at parks, and even at the courthouse parking garages. One
day I drove to Crissy Field, excited to enjoy the view, and every parking space I pulled into had
broken glass on the ground. It wasn't an isolated incident. It had become normal.
The problem is so common that locals even have a nickname for it: “San Francisco Snow.”

Business Description

ParkSafe SF is a civic technology platform designed to help deter the epidemic of vehicle break-ins,
smash-and-grab thefts, and “bipping” that have impacted San Francisco, Oakland, and the greater
Bay Area. Rather than functioning as a security company, ParkSafe connects drivers with
independent contractors known as Watchers who provide a visible, on-site presence while a
customer’s vehicle is parked. Through the mobile app, users can book a Watcher for as little as 15
minutes or for several hours, receive real-time updates and photo check-ins, and have peace of
mind knowing that someone is actively observing their vehicle. The Watcher’s role is strictly to
observe, deter through visibility, document suspicious activity, and contact emergency services
when necessary—they never confront suspects or place themselves in harm’s way. ParkSafe fills
the gap between leaving a vehicle completely unattended and hiring expensive private security,
creating an affordable, on-demand layer of protection for residents, commuters, tourists, rideshare
drivers, and anyone parking in high-risk areas.

Beyond protecting individual vehicles, ParkSafe is built to help restore confidence in the Bay Area
by making neighborhoods, shopping districts, tourist destinations, and entertainment venues feel
safer and more accessible. The platform creates flexible income opportunities for local community
members who complete ParkSafe’s screening and training process before becoming Watchers,
while providing businesses and visitors with a practical solution to one of the region’s most
persistent public safety challenges. By combining modern mobile technology, GPS-based booking,
real-time communication, and a community-powered workforce, ParkSafe transforms passive
parking into an active deterrence service. Its mission is to help residents and visitors enjoy
