The idea was born during a personal journey of teaching my 16-year-old son how to drive. I realized that his lack of effective road scanning, one of the leading causes of teen crashes, posed a serious safety concern. In response, I developed the mantra “Look Don’t Get Shook” as a simple yet powerful reminder to stay calm, focused, and observant behind the wheel. By taping these words to our dashboard and reinforcing the concept, my son embraced the habit of scanning and staying alert—a lesson that can save lives.
