Founder's Story
My path to Ayurveda began through my own health journey. I have lived with diabetes for 20 years, and for much of that time I placed complete trust in conventional medicine. Over the years, I was misdiagnosed, prescribed medications I did not need, and eventually reached a point where I had to question the system I had relied on.
Like many people searching for answers, I explored many different approaches to health. Everyone seems to have an opinion about what works, and it can be difficult to know what is actually true. Last year, I attended a six-day Panchakarma retreat and experienced unexpected changes in my health. That experience shifted something fundamental in me. It was the first time I felt I was encountering a system of medicine that was rooted in lasting principles.
Since then, I have committed myself to studying Ayurveda seriously. Living Ayurveda was born from that commitment. My goal is to encourage people to live more consciously so they can thrive and feel vibrant.
Business Description
Ayurveda is the ancient science of health and wellness from India, and my mission is to bring its timeless, simple, and often surprisingly effective principles into the hands of people all over the world. I did not always believe in this. I used to believe that Ayurveda and natural health is ‘alternate’ health and the modern doctors are the real scientists.

My path to Ayurveda began through my own health journey. I have lived with diabetes for 20 years, and for much of that time I placed complete trust in conventional medicine. Over the years, I was misdiagnosed, prescribed medications I did not need, and eventually reached a point where I had to seek solutions that actually worked. I was told I will never be able to heal and this is a progressive disease. I was determined to find solutions.

Like many people searching for answers, I explored many different approaches to health. I attended many courses and seminars, tried many diets. Everyone seems to have an opinion about what works, and it can be difficult to know what is actually true.

My breakthrough came last year when I attended a six-day Panchakarma (Ayurvedic) retreat and experienced unexpected changes in my health. The fluttering eyelids, disappeared. The lumpy feeling beneath my foot, gone. I had not gone there knowing what to expect, but those were the results. Through their many generic detox programs as well as some specific-to-me healing programs, my body found some of its issues and healed itself. My diabetes numbers dropped drastically within a few days, though they rose again when I returned to my normal diet. With medicines it was way more difficult, no matter how little I ate.

That experience shifted something fundamental in me. It was the first time I realized I no longer wanted to chase the latest fads, but to instead devote myself to a profound, time-tested, scientific system of health and wellness.

Since then, I have committed myself to studying and understanding Ayurveda seriously. I have chosen to silence all the noise out there and focus on this. It has become my mission to help the world learn about Ayurveda. For example, when people have tooth infections and toothache they go to the dentist to get cavities filled or root canals done. However, a root canal only kills the nerve endings of the teeth. This means the infection is still there in the teeth, but the pain is gone. The body has no way of knowing about the infection. Blood cannot enter the area, so it cannot bring the immune system components there to heal it. The infection will either live there silently for years or will spread, since it simply cannot be detected or heal. But instead, a very simple solution, like oil pulling for a few weeks, will actually pull the infection out from the teeth. No dentist appointments needed, no cavities filled that actually drills deeper holes in the teeth, no root canals. Just a little oil and voila – magic. I have personally had 100% success rate with oil pulling though it can take up to a few weeks sometimes.

I am building a repertoire of practical, accessible solutions like these, and my mission is to help every human being alive to know about them so they have options, even if the pharmaceutical companies don’t benefit from this. I want people to understand how much daily rhythms, breath, food, and simple practices can shape the way they feel, physically and emotionally, and how many times they can heal what modern science considers to be completely unhealable.

I have a lot of respect for modern medicine – my mother got a cataract eye surgery in both eyes because of which she is able to see now. Modern medicine has life-changing strengths, but it also has limits. In many cases it is focused on reacting once illness appears, while Ayurveda is proactive to teaching what makes human beings well and healthy. Ayurveda is a science of wellness – literally, the science of life. Ayuh means life and veda means science.

Living Ayurveda is being built through four main branches.
*
1) Ayurvedic products that people can buy to support a more natural and balanced lifestyle.
2) Educational YouTube content in the form of cute, animated, story-based videos, that make Ayurvedic concepts easier to understand, relatable, and engaging for everyday life.
3) Online courses and programs designed to help people go deeper into Ayurvedic principles and apply them in a practical way. This is a longer term goal.
4) Lunura: Custom Breath Timer: a premium custom pranayama breathing app rooted in Ayurvedic tradition. I have already built much of it, am testing it now, and am preparing to launch. This has the powerful life-giving and profoundly healing breathing exercises through steps and journeys. Users can follow preset patterns such as 4-4-4-4 box breathing (4s inhale, 4s hold, 4s exhale, 4s hold), or create their own custom steps for number of seconds for inhale, hold, exhale, and hold. Once the steps are created, they can be combined into customizable journeys, with preset journeys available to help people begin. You will get a month long free trial with all the premium features so you get to experience the app before choosing to purchase.
