Founder's Story
Veterinary medicine has been a huge part of my life and career, and I have experienced both how rewarding this work can be and how much it can take from the people doing it. Over the years, I became increasingly interested in why some teams and leaders thrive while others struggle, and what actually makes work feel sustainable.
That curiosity led me to become a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach and eventually to continue my education in social work. It also pushed me to look beyond individual resilience and think more about the environments we ask people to work in.
I started LeMay Veterinary Consulting because I genuinely love veterinary medicine, business, and people. I believe we can build successful practices without losing sight of the humans inside them, and I wanted to create a career where I could help make that happen.
Business Description
LeMay Veterinary Consulting helps veterinary practices strengthen their business, support their people, and build workplaces that are more sustainable for everyone in them. I work with veterinary practice owners, managers, veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and client service teams through practice consulting, professional coaching, onsite support, training, and speaking.
My consulting work can include leadership and management development, communication and accountability, workflow and scheduling, hiring and onboarding, employee retention, financial performance and KPIs, inventory management, operational efficiency, change management, and practice management systems. Every engagement is different because every practice is different. I spend time understanding what is actually happening inside the practice—looking at the people, processes, systems, and data—before deciding what needs to change. Then I work alongside the team to implement practical solutions, evaluate what is working, and adjust when needed.
A big part of my work is helping veterinary leaders see that business performance and employee wellbeing are connected, not competing priorities. Burnout, turnover, overwhelm, communication problems, and disengagement cannot always be solved by asking employees to become more resilient. Sometimes we need to look at workload, workflow, leadership, expectations, staffing, communication, and the other conditions people experience at work every day.
LeMay Veterinary Consulting also provides individualized professional coaching for veterinary professionals and industry leaders who want support with leadership, difficult conversations, boundaries, career transitions, communication, confidence, and navigating the challenges that come with working in veterinary medicine.
Ultimately, my work is about supporting performance, people, and wellbeing—helping veterinary practices operate more effectively while creating environments where people can do good work, provide excellent patient and client care, and build careers that are sustainable.
