Founder's Story

My name is Valencia Lee, also known as Coach V. I am the Founder and Head Coach of Laveen Divine Cheer, a youth leadership organization that uses cheerleading, mentorship, and community service to empower young people. As a mother of four, longtime coach, and youth advocate, I founded Laveen Divine Cheer to create inclusive opportunities for youth to build confidence, leadership skills, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging.

Business Description

Laveen Divine Cheer is a youth leadership and community development organization based in Phoenix, Arizona, serving families throughout Laveen, South Mountain, and surrounding communities. We use cheerleading, mentorship, character education, leadership development, and community service as tools to help young people build confidence, resilience, teamwork, and positive life skills. Our programs are designed to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, encouraged, and empowered to reach their full potential.

More than a cheer program, Laveen Divine Cheer focuses on developing well-rounded future leaders. Participants engage in athletic training, team-building activities, leadership opportunities, community outreach projects, and character-building experiences that promote accountability, integrity, respect, and perseverance. We welcome athletes of all backgrounds, skill levels, and abilities, including neurodivergent youth, and believe every child deserves access to opportunities that foster personal growth and belonging.

As a female- and minority-led organization founded by mothers and community advocates, we are committed to strengthening families and creating positive outcomes for youth. Through recreational and competitive cheer programs, mentorship initiatives, volunteer service projects, and community partnerships, we provide affordable and meaningful opportunities for young people to succeed both on and off the mat. Our mission is to inspire confidence, cultivate leadership, and empower the next generation to become compassionate, engaged, and successful members of their communities.

At Laveen Divine Cheer, we believe that sports can be a powerful vehicle for change. By combining athletics with mentorship and service, we help young people discover their strengths, develop lifelong skills, and become leaders who positively impact the world around them.
