Founder's Story

Our entrepreneurial journey began with Sugah Kane Lounge, a nightlife venue my husband Garth and I created in Palm Bay. There, we brought reggae, dancehall, and Caribbean culture to our community and discovered our passion for creating spaces where people connect through music and shared experiences.
As nightlife shifted, we evolved. Garth’s passion for cooking and guidance from his sister, who had restaurant experience, helped us learn the food business. Without formal training, we relied on determination and adaptability.
In 2016, we opened JamRock Grill, centered on authentic Jamaican food and hospitality. Though we closed in 2019, we remained committed to our vision.
In 2020, during COVID, we reopened, adapting quickly and relying on community support. Today, JamRock is known for authentic dishes and as a gathering place rooted in food, music, culture, and community.

Our menu features traditional favorites including oxtail, jerk chicken, curry goat, brown stew chicken, rice and peas, and other dishes prepared with the bold flavors and traditions of Jamaican cooking. We serve local residents as well as customers seeking an authentic taste of Jamaica and the warmth and hospitality that are central to our culture.

JamRock offers more than traditional restaurant dining. Our adjoining bar and entertainment space allows us to host private parties, celebrations, community gatherings, live entertainment, DJs, watch parties, and cultural events. This flexibility gives our customers a place not only to enjoy a meal, but also to gather, celebrate, and connect. Our background in entertainment, beginning with Sugah Kane Lounge, has helped us create an experience where Jamaican food and music naturally come together.

We also provide catering for private celebrations, corporate and community events, and other special occasions. Expanding our catering and event services is an important part of JamRock’s continued growth, allowing us to bring our food and hospitality beyond the walls of the restaurant and serve a broader market throughout our community.
