We’re Kate and Romain, the friendly neighborhood IT folks that make up the team at Hyperion Computerworks! Since 2019 we have provided a range of services related to electronics repair and consulting to the Portland metro, but if you were to ask our friends, family, or employers from any job we ever held before striking off on our own, they’d tell you that we’ve been their Tech Support a whole lot longer than just these last 6 years. 

We met teaching outdoor education 10 years ago and have been partners in life and business ever since. Together, we bring our passion for environmental conservation and love of teaching into our work repairing your electronics. We are so proud to have spent the last 3 years advocating for consumer’s rights to repair their devices and working alongside OSPIRG and the Oregon Legislature to craft and successfully pass a bipartisan Right To Repair bill all while actively helping our community with their immediate needs

We are actively trying to minimize our community’s electronic waste footprint to protect our ecology and help educate our clients so that they are making thoughtful intentional purchases and maximizing the usable life of their devices as much as possible. We keep our rates as low as possible and often on a sliding scale so that repair is accessible as possible to incentivize folks to repair their devices instead of replacing them and make sure that whenever possible cost is not a barrier to repair. 

On a daily basis, we are interacting with elderly victims of scams, fellow small business owners, young families on tight budgets, and folks of all backgrounds who are generally looking for guidance as they navigate the decision making process. We offer one-on-one tutoring so that they feel safer and more empowered as they navigate technology in general, and perform repairs that manufacturers and most other shops do not offer
