Founder's Story

MeMe JJ and Friends LLC grew from the intersection of my personal experiences, professional background, and love of storytelling. I am a U.S. Navy veteran, marine electrician, author, and lifelong learner. My technical career taught me that observation, communication, reading comprehension, safety awareness, and problem-solving are essential skills in the real world.

The business began with stories inspired by my own pets, especially JJ, my Chihuahua. What started as children’s books became something much larger when I realized the characters and visual stories could help children slow down, observe details, gather evidence, interpret situations, and communicate what they noticed.

That insight led to the development of Visual Narrative Emotional Comprehension, or VNEC, and later expanded into Career-Infused Learning. MeMe JJ and Friends LLC is a woman-owned, disabled-veteran-owned educational company developing PreK–12 learning solutions that connect storytelling, visual literacy, career exploration, workplace safety, and workforce readiness. The company creates children’s books, educator resources, Visual Narrative Emotional Comprehension (VNEC) lessons, Career-Infused Learning curriculum, digital learning tools, and professional development resources. Its Career-Infused Learning model helps students connect academic skills to real-world professions through observation, evidence-based reasoning, communication, problem-solving, and practical workplace applications. MeMe JJ and Friends is developing curriculum across 28 professions and building partnerships with educators, employers, technical colleges, community colleges, and industry professionals to support authentic career-connected learning. The company’s mission is to help students understand not only what they are learning, but how those skills connect to college, technical education, apprenticeships, careers, and the workplace.
