Business Description

Foster the Plant opened in December 2019. Three months after opening we began changing and adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic. FTP Cafe provides healthy plant based, vegan food options to a rural NY community. Ingredients and products are sourced locally as much as possible in order to support and engage farms and other small businesses in the area. Menu items change with the seasons in order to promote local farms and show what the North Country of NY all year round.  Another mission of FTP Cafe is to utilize environmentally friendly practices including recycling, composting and working towards being a zero waste business. Healthy living and environmental sustainability is promoted through food offerings, materials utilized in the shop, merchandise, and future event offerings. Moving into the future, FTP Cafe plans to continue educating the community on healthy eating, locally sourcing food, and lifestyle choices and plans to partner with community groups including yoga and the arts to hold events that bring the community together.
