A comprehensive psychological or neuropsychological evaluation may take several hours and occur across multiple visits, depending on the reason. These assessments measure factors such as memory, attention, executive functioning, language, and processing speed.

Evaluations can be used for:

  • – Help doctors determine appropriate medications
  • – Contribute to developing a targeted treatment plan
  • – Measure progress or loss of various functional and/or cognitive impairments
  • – Determine educational needs and make recommendations
  • – Assist in making an accurate diagnosis, such as learning problems, ADHD, mood or behavioral disorders, dementia, & Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • – Provide clients with a deeper understanding of their cognitive, emotional, and psychological processes

Dr. Rebecca Uth, our founder, is a highly experienced clinical psychologist with over twenty years of expertise in evaluation and therapy services for clients of all ages across the Southern New England region. She has a broad background in assessment and treatment, working with clients in outpatient, inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization settings. During her training, Dr. Uth specialized in cognitive-behavioral therapy for adolescents with a history of suicidal behavior, self-injury, and substance abuse, as well as support for their families.

Currently, Dr. Uth provides neuropsychological, psychological, and educational assessments for clients facing a range of challenges, including mood and behavioral disorders, memory and learning difficulties, and neurodevelopmental conditions.

Her academic background includes a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University, a master’s degree in psychology from Boston University, and a doctoral degree from William James College. Dr. Uth is a licensed clinical psychologist in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

 

In addition to private practice, Dr. Uth spent nearly 20 years involved with federally funded clinical research at Brown University’s School of Public Health. She also provides clinical supervision to individuals preparing for licensure and has instructed at the collegiate level.
