Founder's Story

Equalizer was born out of my own story. I was a highly recruited basketball player from 7th grade through college at Florida State — until, at 21, a doctor told me I had arthritis in both knees and that if I kept playing I'd need a knee replacement. WNBA scouts were reaching out, but my body couldn't take the pain.
What stuck with me wasn't losing the game — it was that the recovery tools available were bulky, expensive, and as good as nothing for an everyday athlete. So I decided to build what I couldn't find.
Equalizer (EQ) is an athlete-recovery brand built on one belief: recovery shouldn't be a luxury. We pair a community-driven apparel line with a portable, all-in-one recovery wearable — hot and cold therapy, EMS, TENS, and massage in one device. Built for athletes, former athletes, and anyone who refuses to quit. I couldn't save my own career — EQ is how I make sure the next athlete doesn't have to. Stronger than yesterday.

Equalizer (EQ) is an athlete-recovery brand on a mission to make recovery accessible to everyone — not just elite athletes with team budgets. We believe recovery shouldn’t be a luxury.

We’re building a portable, all-in-one recovery wearable that combines hot and cold therapy, EMS (electrical muscle stimulation), TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), and targeted massage into one sleek device you can use anywhere — at home, at practice, or on the go. It replaces a training room full of expensive equipment with something that fits in your gym bag.

Alongside the device, we offer a community-driven performance apparel line — hoodies, tees, sports bras, joggers, hats, and accessories designed for movement, comfort, and the athlete mindset. EQ gear is built for athletes, former athletes, weekend warriors, and active professionals who train with discipline and refuse to quit.

Founded by a former Florida State basketball player whose own career was cut short by injury, Equalizer is rooted in real experience. We stand for discipline, resilience, accessibility, and community — and our promise to every customer: stronger than yesterday.
