Empowered Arts Academy is a creative arts and academic enrichment program dedicated to inspiring, educating, and empowering youth in Trumbull and Mahoning Counties, Ohio. Rooted in the traditions of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), we provide students aged 12-18 with unique opportunities to explore their academic and artistic potential. Our offerings include an array of performance groups, such as our co-ed step team, the Magnificent Mavens HBCU-style majorette group, and the Beat Battalion drumline, designed to cultivate discipline, teamwork, and creativity. We also focus on career readiness, offering job shadowing, internships, and professional development programs to equip students with real-world skills and direct pathways into creative industries.

Beyond performance, we address the holistic development of our students through academic tutoring, homework help, and access to mental health support with licensed therapists. Additionally, our curated events and exposure trips—ranging from college tours to experiences like New York Fashion Week and the BET Awards Fan Festival—broaden students’ horizons, preparing them for success beyond their local community.
