Business Description

“A “third place” is a social environment separate from home (first place) and work (second place), serving as a vital community hub for informal gatherings, relaxation, and connection with others, such as coffee shops, parks, libraries, or pubs, crucial for social well-being and civic life, a concept coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg in The Great Good Place.” 

Picture this, you have a rare 30 minute break from work, kids, stress. You decide to curl up with a good book or perhaps begin a craft project you have been wanting to do for ages. You get everything set up, sit down, and yet…can’t concentrate. The laundry needs going, the cat just threw up on the carpet, and the kid left their socks on the kitchen table…again. 

Every time you go to relax at home, you feel the stress of all that needs done. And if you finally get it done? If you have kids–you’ve got approximately two minutes before a human tornado destroys it. If you don’t, you sit wishing that someone could share it with you. That maybe you had people who “got it.” 

At Emerge, we’ve spend the first year of our business creating a community of people who get it. The crafty creators, the artists, the dreamers. We’ve hung out with moms finally designing their cottage core creations, dads building miniatures and telling stories, college students who need space away from campus or alcohol, kids who need a place to safely crash and more. 

We’ve taught over 200 craft and life skills classes, held over 100 events, sold over 500 craft kits, and reached over 500 customers. We do kids’ birthday parties, private parties, and more. We also offer a full service hot tea and cold lemonade menu. 

We are also opening a new area to Emerge–a curated selection of books! We will have a selection of exciting, inspiring, good-loving, noble-bright fantasy and fiction–without excessive gore, language or open-door romance.
