Founder's Story
In early 2016, Susan Fennema was job-hunting and kept coming up empty-handed. Going back to an office — she had been virtual since 2010 — was unappetizing. And she didn't want to start over, earning the trust of a single owner again. She decided to serve multiple business owners at once instead. Beyond the Chaos launched as a project management firm with Susan as the sole PM. That lasted about six months before she realized she wanted to build a team and help more founders.
Ten years later, BTC has worked with hundreds of service-based businesses, helping overwhelmed owners build systems, delegate with confidence, and step back from the day-to-day — without everything falling apart. The work turned out to be less about project management and more about founders who built something real and got trapped inside it. That's still who Beyond the Chaos is built for.

Beyond the Chaos is a business operations consultancy based in McKinney, Texas. We are operations architects for service-based small business owners — helping them escape the grind of daily operations so they can scale sustainably and reclaim their personal lives. We work with founders who have created stressful jobs for themselves.
