Mission Statement: African American Wellness Center for Children & Families (AAWCCF)
The African American Wellness Center for Children & Families (AAWCCF) is dedicated to child abuse prevention and family support, ensuring that African American families have the resources and opportunities to survive and thrive. Our work addresses systemic inequities that disproportionately impact Black and Brown communities, particularly in healthcare access, economic stability, and education.
AAWCCF operates at the intersection of prevention, advocacy, and direct support, equipping families with culturally responsive services, parenting education, mental health resources, and community-based interventions. Our goal is to break harmful cycles, strengthen family structures, and improve health and well-being.
By addressing root causes such as poverty, racial disparities in healthcare, and limited access to resources, we proactively reduce the number of children entering systems that historically fail them. We believe that a community-driven, equity-centered approach is key to creating lasting change.
